This book traces the history of the Indian educational system through 150 years of colonial rule against the background of the changing social, political and economic conditions in England and India. The late Dr. J. P. Naik was member secretary of the Indian Council of Social Science Research and closely associated with Indian education for over two decades. Dr. Syed Nurullah was also associated with education Departments and was Pro- vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University.
