Summary: There is no question about the fact that advancement of technology is opening up a new era of social science research. Today's research challenges require joint efforts not only from all branches of social sciences;but it requires technical knowledge from other discipline like computer science, network engineering, statistic and many others. Hence,in order to collect and analyze the large volume of data, we need to go far beyond where social science disciplines have traditionally gone.These efforts must not only be imaginative,methodologically sophisticated,but also truly multidisciplinary.Despite these developments in data collection and computing capabilities,tradition social science research methodology suffers from some significant shortcomings and challenges. This book explores how social scientist aggregate and synthesize the data and observations that constitute our understanding of contemporary social science research.
